After the success of its highly popular Eee PC mini notebooks, Asus is targeting the desktop space with its Eee Box.

The company claims that the Eee Box is the world’s smallest desktop PC, as it is only 223 x 178 x 26mm in size without the stand.

It is so compact that it can be mounted on the back of an LCD monitor if there isn’t enough desk space.

The Eee Box has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11n connectivity, which provides better data transfer speed and wider coverage compared to the older standard.

The notebook also features Asus Express Gate technology, which allows it to boot into a special mode and connect to the Internet in just seven seconds, allowing the user to browse the Web, chat, view photos and make Skype calls. The machine has an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz) processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB of storage space and runs on Windows XP Home edition.

The Eee Box is priced at RM1,099.
