Syed Zyed Bin Wan Asnawi (left); the officer from Ministry of Youth & Sport and Dato' Eric Chuah (right); Group Managing Director of CSL, during the launch of CSL S1 Swarovski Designed Phone, which is the official mobile phone for the Miss Tourism International World Final 2008. The launch was held on my non-working day - Sunday :( 21st Dec 2008 from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at the Digital World, IOI Mall, Puchong.

I left the event about 4 something due to an unexpected incident which one of the crew mistaken me for a non-invited media/guest when i was busy taking these beauty queens photo. I felt very bad cuz the attitude of the crew was a bit rude and not polite. She... (yes, is a she), pulled my bag while i was taking photos (the photo above was the last shot taken at 4:40pm). Come on... i'm one of your invited media, unlike during the earlier session, there were two fake media - attending the launch for the door gift and food!

Hotlink 365 Stretches Prepaid Validity to 365 Days

Mr Tan Lay Han (right), Maxis Head of Consumer Marketing, launching Hotlink 365, the first prepaid service that stretches prepaid validity to 365 days.

Kuala Lumpur, 16 July 2008 - Hotlink, the country’s no. 1 prepaid service from Maxis Communications Berhad (“Maxis”), today redefined the Malaysian prepaid mobile market with the introduction of Hotlink 365. This new service is the first of its kind to be offered in Malaysia. It allows the customer to make and receive calls for the entire 365 days, thereby enabling full utilisation of prepaid credit balances within the period. Customers now can enjoy uninterrupted service over the 365 days. To subscribe to Hotlink 365, prepaid customers only need to pay RM33 for the one-year validity, and top up RM30 within the first six months of signing up.

At the launch of the Hotlink 365 today, Tan Lay Han, Maxis Head of Consumer Marketing, said, “Hotlink 365 is a new service that offers our customers a more innovative option for mobile connectivity. Current prepaid services in Malaysia offer validity periods of between 10 to 30 days, and customers are required to reload to be able to make outgoing calls. With Hotlink 365, customers have the flexibility to reload anytime to make calls within the 365 day period. The customer’s line can remain active for just about 9 sen/ day. We are certain that Hotlink 365 will benefit our customers by allowing them to keep their lines active for a longer period.”

Both existing and new customers can subscribe to this service. To subscribe, Hotlink customers need to ensure the account is active with a minimum balance of RM33. The customer then needs to dial *108*6#. RM33 will be deducted from the account. The customer will then receive an SMS confirmation within three days informing her that her prepaid validity has been extended by 365 days.

If the customer still has paid validity in her account, her new validity will include both the existing paid and the new 365 day validity. All benefits earned by existing customers will remain intact after the activation of this service.

Hotlink has consistently been offering innovative products to its customers. It recently extended its Activ5 programme to an Activ10 programme that offers customers cheaper mobile rates for calls to 10 friends and family members, and also introduced the Super Savers programme which offers cheaper calls via creative bundling packages. Both programmes can be activated easily by dialling *100#. Hotlink 365 is the latest in Hotlink’s value offerings to its customers. For more information, please visit www.hotlink.com.my.

Mobile and Wireless Group Launches the Atom V

Kuala Lumpur, 2 April 2008 – Mobile and Wireless Group (MWg) today announced the availability of the Atom V. The handset with inbuilt GPS, exclusively designed for MWg, will be available at authorised retailers in Malaysia in the first week of April 2008.

MWg’s Atom V is the ideal partner for navigating the city streets. The Atom V’s inbuilt SiRF Star-III GPS chipset is every urban explorer’s trusty companion, ensuring that users always find their way to their next destination.

With Atom V’s host of connectivity options, users are always only a call or email away, no matter how far away from home. The high speed 3.5G HSDPA and onboard Wi-Fi lets users stay connected, available and ready anytime, anywhere.

The handset features a slim profile of 14.95mm and is bathed in a midnight blue hue. The exclusive design features a 2.8” LCD screen that extends throughout the front face of the device. This touch screen surface combined with the scroll wheel and four buttons strike a perfect balance of form and function.

When it comes to speed, the Atom V features an Intel processor running Microsoft® Windows Mobile 6 Professional® at a zippy 520 Mhz. The speedy CPU provides a responsive and intuitive user experience without being a drain on power resources. This ensures up to 3.5 hours talk time, or 150 hours standby time, depending on usage.

Rounding off MWg’s maiden product is a host of features such as a 2.0 mega-pixel camera with auto focus and FM radio with RDS (Radio Data System) that provides data on the station, the current track on air from a station and even traffic alerts.

“We see ourselves in a unique position of having inherited the premium heritage of a global brand and the agility and flexibility of a start-up.” said Mark Billington, CEO of MWg.

“As a start-up, we naturally work with like-minded and innovative partners to offer an engaging experience for our customers. Our devices are designed to complement the consumers’ lifestyle needs.”

MWg is a Singapore-based start-up, formed by the former management of O2 Asia, which develops and markets premium converged devices for a global market. Since its formation in November 2007, the company consolidated its presence in Asia with offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the Middle East, it has also expanded into UK and USA. Through an investment by London-listed online retailer eXpansys, MWg will also expand its retail channels to cover the online demand for its products.

Atom V is the first product to be launched in Asia under MWg and the third product to be launched in the US and the EU (after Atom Life and Ubiquio 503g). A further three to six products are planned in 2008 including the Zinc II to be launched in Q2.

The Atom V will retail at RM2,368 inclusive of a 12 month local warranty.

Rezeki Deepavali... Tuah Hari Raya Haji

Nasib menyebelahi aku! Impian menjadi kenyataan kerana nama syarikat yang disebut dahulu telah membuatkan aku teruja kerana Si Zaleha, Sub Editor majalah Ering tak ambil bahagian. "Dah tentu lah aku yang menang," jerit hatiku. Belum pun namaku disebut, aku dah bersorak kegirangan seperti orang separuh gila.
